28 Feb 2021

Sajad Zareian has marked a notable breakthrough by becoming the first Iranian to win two PSA World Tour titles.

Already the country's highest-ranked player of all-time, 23-year-old Zareian charged through the 24-man field of the Commemoration Of The Martyrs Of The Iranian Navy Army in the Iran capital Tehran to win the PSA Challenger Tour 5 title at Heidarnia Squash Complex.

It was in November 2017 that the Iranian No.1 claimed the Peace & Friendship Cup crown to make history as Iran's 1st ever PSA World Tour title winner.

"I'm so happy for win the second title of my career - this tournament can improve my world ranking," said the exuberant Zareian after the 14-12, 11-6, 11-7 final victory over compatriot Sami Ghasedabadi in Tehran.

"My target in 2021 is to keep going to top 50 of the PSA rankings."
