Perry Puts Paid To Hong Kong Double

Irish champion Madeline Perry defeated local star Rebecca Chiu in the women's final of the Buler Challenge Cup to put paid to a domestic double at the Hong Kong Squash Centre.

Top seed Perry, the world No14 from Northern Ireland, was taken the full distance by Malaysia's fourth seed Sharon Wee in the semi-finals - but in the final stemmed a third game fight-back by Chiu to beat the Asian Games champion 9-3 9-3 1-9 9-1.

In the men's event, Hong Kong's top seed Wai Hang Wong outplayed experienced compatriot Faheem Khan, a qualifier, in the semi-finals to reach the final against fourth seed Bradley Hindle. In a close battle which included a tie-break in the third game, Wong prevailed 11-6 8-11 11-10 11-9 against the Australian in 43 minutes to win his first PSA Tour title.
