India's Ritwik Bhattacharya beat Swedish qualifier Badr Abdel Aziz in the final of the Esportiu Rocafort Open to win his third PSA Tour title in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
But the top seed had to fight hard to claim his anticipated place in the final. The 25-year-old from New Delhi was stretched to five games in his quarter-final against sixth-seeded Frenchman Julien Balbo - then taken to tie-breaks in the first two games of his semi-final against Hong Kong's No3 seed Wai Hang Wong before winning 11-10 11-10 2-11 11-5.
After coming through two qualifying rounds, Badr Abdel Aziz made his breakthrough in the main draw when he toppled second seed Dylan Bennett in a five-game quarter-final. Ranked 194 in the world, the 24-year-old from Stockholm then despatched Australia's No7 seed Tony James in straight games to earn his first appearance in a PSA final.
After a closely-contested opening game in the final, Bhattacharya upped the pressure to defeat the brave Swede 11-10 11-2 11-1.
