Camilleri Captures Central Crown

Australian Lisa Camilleri upset the form book to win the Central Open squash title in New Plymouth, New Zealand.

The third seed toppled top seed Christina Mak, from Hong Kong, in the final of the $10,000 WISPA World Tour event at the Kawaroa Park Squash Club, winning 9-7, 3-9, 9-3, 9-5 in 59 minutes.

It was Camilleri's second successive upset in the event. The 25-year-old Queenslander fought back from two games down to overcome second-seeded compatriot Donna Urquhart 8-10, 1-9, 10-8, 9-4, 10-8 in a tense 64-minute semi-final.

The win gives Camilleri her fifth title on the WISPA World Tour - and extends her notable record of triumphs in all five finals in which she has appeared!
