Pakistan & Australian Doubles In KL Satellites

There were double celebrations for Pakistan and Australia in the first two NSC Satellites of the year at the National Squash Centre at Bukit Jalil in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
Fifth seed Shamsul Islam Khan arrived in the men's Satellite No1 final without having played a seeded opponent. The 29-year-old Pakistani from Quetta brushed aside Malaysia's No7 seed Elvinn Keo 11-9, 11-3, 11-7 in 24 minutes to collect the third PSA Tour title of his career.
Khan fell at the quarter-final stage in the NSC Satellite No2 as fifth-seeded compatriot Arshad Iqbal Burki fought through to the climax to face local player Nafzahizam Adnan, the third seed from Kuala Lumpur.
The 23-year-old from Peshawar survived two tie-break games to beat Adnan 11-6, 11-10 (2-0), 11-10 (2-0) in 31 minutes to win the first Tour title of his career.
Australia's Lisa Camilleri boosted her WISPA World Tour title tally by two with a personal double triumph in Bukit Jalil. Top seed in the Satellite No1, the 25-year-old Queenslander despatched second seed Georgina Stoker, from England, 9-2, 9-3, 9-4 in the final.
Compatriot Amelia Pittock was seeded to win the Satellite No2, but Camilleri battled for 43 minutes in the final to beat the 24-year-old from Victoria 9-6, 9-4, 4-9, 10-9.
