White & Cuskelly In Perth Breakthroughs

Unseeded local players Cameron White and Ryan Cuskelly claimed unexpected places in the quarter-finals of the City of Joondalup Open after seeding upsets in the first round of the PSA Tour event at Mullaloo Squash Centre in Perth, Western Australia.

White took out fourth-seeded fellow Australian Paul Davis 11-2, 11-2, 11-10 (5-3) while Cuskelly beat New Zealand's No7 seed Martin Knight 11-4, 11-6, 11-10 (3-1).

Top-seeded Dutchman Dylan Bennett is on course to meet second seed Kashif Shuja in the final after beating Australian qualifier Zac Alexander 11-9, 11-7, 11-3.
